Putting like the pros - first the routine, then the feel

The correct setup is of central importance in putting. 

The most important component in putting must be right: namely your distance to the ball, so that your eyes look directly down onto the ball!

If the distance is right and your eyes are directly over the ball, you are able to see the putting line perfectly. In addition, you will now almost automatically and very comfortably adopt your stance, with your body lines along the putting line.

Once you are standing relaxed and comfortably over the ball, don't think about your putting technique. Concentrate on your putting feel and execute the putt without thinking about the mechanics of putting - except for...your eyes: you must remain focused that your eyes stay over the ball throughout the entire putting process (at least until impact). Only then will you repeatedly succeed in making putts. Professional players often keep their heads still for significantly longer.

To train this successfully, we have equipped our PUTT ALIGNER training device with the reference ball.

While putting mirrors were previously considered well suited for training this, the reference ball is clearly better able to position your eyes over the ball throughout the entire putting process (at least until impact). The learning effect is significantly more sustainable.

The function of the reference ball: place your game ball directly under the reference ball and, during setup, look down onto the reference ball with your left eye.

During the entire swing, make sure that nothing changes. Your game ball must remain hidden under the reference ball. It should only emerge from the "shadow" of the reference ball after impact.

If you train this regularly and with concentration, you will be amazed at how well you can putt.
